The shared files module allows for the private and protected distribution of files.
Users are given permission to download files. These files are protected and can only be downloaded once logged in.
1. Login and enter the Admin Panel.
2. Click on the Shared Files Icon in the Manage>>Create>>Delete box.
Adding Files one at a time
Look for:
File Manager - Open File Manager Click on the Open File Manager link.You have just opened the file manager. From here you can edit,add and delete files and directories.
To
add a file look for the browse button at the top right of the file
manager window. Click the browse button and locate the file on your
computer. Double click the file you wish to upload. Once you've chosen
your file click the upload file button. Once the file is done uploading
you'll notice it in the file list to the left.
*Note- just b/c you upload a file doesn't mean that your users will be able to download it. You must give them permission still.
To Edit or Delete a file look for
the edit and delete icons in the file list. The edit icon looks like a
hand holding a pencil and the delete icon looks like a hand drawn x.
Click on the respective icons and follow the instructions.
Adding a bunch of files at once
Use
the zip upload. Create a zip file with all the files you want uploaded
to the server. Browse to your zip file and then click the upload zip
button.
* Note- If you want your files to show up in the root directory, do not add any directories in the zip.
Giving Users permission to download files
Look for:
User Permission Manager - open click the [open] link.
1. Choose a user from the drop down list and click the change user button.
2. Once you click the change user button, a directory tree of all your files will appear.
To
give that user permission to download a file, check the checkbox next
to the file and click the update permissions button at the top
right or bottom of the page.
Leaving a Message for your User
Look for:
User Message Manager - open click on the [open] link.
1. Choose a user from the drop down list and click the change user button.
2. If the user already has a message you can edit it, otherwise create a new message.
The user will only receive this message after they are logged in and on the files download page.
